Three kinds of application

Pick the one that fits where you are. If you are not sure which is yours, just ask — we answer.

Curricular internship

For those still on a course

The internship that is part of your course, under an agreement between your school or university and the group. You work on a real project, with a mentor from the team and another from your institution.

Duration: As set by the course

Professional internship

For those who have just finished

A first real job, under an IEFP scheme or equivalent. It is how much of the technical team got here: the internship ends and they stay.

Duration: Several months

Summer internship

For those still studying

A few weeks away from classes to see what this is like from the inside. Not photocopying: you join a team and leave knowing what a project is.

Duration: A few weeks over the summer

From the first email to the first project

  1. You apply

You send an application with your CV and a line about what interests you. You do not need experience — that is what an internship is for.

  2. We talk

A conversation with HR and another with the team you would join. No trick questions: we want to know what you have done and what you feel like learning.

  3. We agree the essentials

Dates, hours, mentor and what you will be doing, in writing. If the internship is curricular, we handle the agreement with your school.

  4. You start on a real project

In the first month you are already working on something that goes live, with someone beside you to answer questions. What you do here ends up running in municipalities, schools and companies.

What we ask for

  • Curiosity: asking is exactly what is expected of someone who is learning.
  • A willingness to work in a team, because nothing here is done alone.
  • Care about what you hand in, even when nobody is watching.
  • Portuguese to talk to clients and English to read documentation.

What we do not ask for

  • Years of experience. It would make no sense to ask.
  • That you already master the technology we use — that gets taught.
  • A perfect academic record.
  • That you have an answer to everything in an interview.

Questions

The ones we always get, answered straight.

Can I apply when there is no internship opening?

Yes, and that is the usual route. Internship applications are kept on file and looked at when teams plan the next term or summer. Every application gets an answer.

Which courses do interns come from?

Mostly IT, networks and electrical engineering, but also management, marketing and communication — the group has technical and non-technical areas.

Is the internship on-site?

Yes, at the office in Faro. In the first months you learn far more beside the team than from home, and some of the work is at client premises.

Will I have a mentor?

You have someone from the team assigned to your internship, who you can ask anything, and the head of the area follows your progress.

Will I get a job at the end?

It often happens, but it depends on there being a role open and on both sides wanting it. We do not promise a job in order to attract applications.

What about the terms of the internship?

Duration, hours and terms are set out in writing before you start, and vary with the type of internship and the agreement with your institution. Talk to HR about your case.
